A Blogging and Shopping Fool

I heard no less than 20 times last weekend how much people like reading my blog. Forgive me if it's going to my head. Selling all the blogged items is also adding to my enthusiasm. So, this, and the following two posts include the previews for this weekend 1/23-1/24 at the lovely and historic Williamsburg Savings Bank in Brooklyn. And if you scroll further down, to last week's post, you'll see the floor lamp that surprisingly didn't sell for $65 last week. Yes, that's another Gucci bag. This one is smaller, but the red stripe adds $20 to the price every time. $50. There's a cute gilded occasional table, ca. 1960. I wouldn't be surprised if my decorator ladies from Long Island snap this one up for $60. I bought all that costume in one foray on Wednesday. It's all under $20 except for that $85 gem in the middle. And, contain yourself, it's a Joanne Delomba cookie jar! When you're in this business, it's your job to buy anything signed, in the hopes that it's a good signature. Sometimes you find yourself disappointed. Joanne Delomba = mass produced trendy stuff. It's recent, and cheap when it's retail. I actually like this piece waaaayyyy better than any of the other examples of her work I saw on the internet. The eyes are great. The globe form rocks. And it's a kitty! Please don't let me regret buying yet another piece of mystery pottery, and please buy this for $20.

After getting to the end, I've decided that the cookie jar is the best piece! There's something about it that just shouts, "RAWR!"
